PADI Divemaster Course

As you probably know, many PADI Divemasters continue their training to become PADI Instructors. The training and experience you gain during the PADI Divemaster course will directly benefit you on your path to becoming a professional dive instructor. And to support you in this initial phase of your career as a dive professional, PADI has developed various training tools, such as the Divemaster Crew Pack.

As a PADI Divemaster, you are authorized to:

1. Plan, conduct and supervise land and boat-based diving activities
2. Assist PADI Instructors in conducting PADI programs

To participate in the PADI Divemaster course, you must:

1. Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
2. Be certified as a PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent)
3. At the start of the course, you must have at least 40 dives logged in your personal logbook. Proof of 60 dives is required for certification.
4. Be at least 18 years old at the start of the course
5. Provide the instructor with a medical certificate confirming that you are fit to dive

As a PADI Divemaster you will be able to:

1. To assist a PADI Instructor as a certified assistant
2. Supervise participants in PADI courses and programs
3. To exercise general supervision of training-related and non-training-related diving activities
4. PADI Skin Diver training and certification
5. Conduct the PADI Scuba Review program for certified divers
6. Attend PADI Instructor Development Courses

Upon successful completion of the PADI Divemaster course, you will receive a certification card and a wall certificate. This certification also makes you a PADI member. Membership offers the following benefits, among others: a subscription to PADI’s magazine “The Undersea Journal,” member pricing on certain PADI materials and services, and the option to purchase professional indemnity insurance.
